Stress, tension and anxiety can be very annoying and cause problems in daily life. Everyone suffers from it to a greater or lesser extent and we actually cannot do anything about it.
We are just the way we are. This is the result of the characteristics we have inherited from our biological parents (our genes), in combination with the course of our development (during pregnancy and early childhood), our upbringing and the circumstances and events of our youth. This combination determines how we react and what decisions we make in our daily lives.
Because we are all different, we all have a different way of expressing stress, tension and anxiety. This can also be different in every situation. For example, your child, teenager or yourself may suffer from:

 

  • Fear of failure
  • Anger
  • Powerlessness
  • Gloom
  • Sadness
  • Worry
  • Full head
  • Keep talking
  • (over)analyzing
  • Playing the clown
  • Being withdrawn
  • Very shy
  • Fear of certain situations or specific objects (e.g. fear of the dark, of going to sleepovers, or of spiders or dogs, for example)
  • Anxiety after a certain event (e.g. after a car accident or watching exciting videos)
  • Bad sleeping
  • Fatigue
  • Chronic pain complaints (e.g. abdominal pain, back pain or SOLK conditions such as fibromyalgia)

 

These expressions can make things quite difficult for your child, your teenager or yourself and you would prefer to get rid of them.
Stress, tension and anxiety are stored in your body. By working with the signals your body gives and control over your body, in combination with becoming aware of the associated feelings and thoughts, you can reduce the tension associated with this. This often greatly reduces the problems in an accessible way or the complaints can even disappear.
